Ford Not to Run — No One Really Surprised

Harold Ford has decided not to challenge Kirsten Gillibrand for her Senate seat.

While he says the reason is it would be a bruising battle that could leave the seat vulnerable to a Republican win — and he’s not going to take that chance — you have to think that it also has something to do with the fact that he comes across as a simply lousy candidate, that whatever magic he had in Tennessee is just gone.

Maybe he was ill advised, maybe he really is that lousy a candidate.

Either way, I’m sure he’ll find other things to keep himself busy.
